Link building is an important aspect of search engine optimization. Google judges a website by the number of its inbound links. Link building is one aspect of search engine optimization where many newbie optimizers goof up. While quantity is important in link building, it is the quality of the inbound URL’s which make the real difference in your website ranking.
It is preferred to have a handful of backlinks from high quality, high PR- niche websites rather than hundreds of links from low quality websites. If your website is PR5, submit your website URL to search directories with PR5 and above. You can link back to lower PR websites from your niche. Reciprocal linking has lost its position as an “important link building factor”. Though Google doesn’t pay a lot importance to reciprocal links, there is no harm in exchanging links with a niche/ high PR website.
