SEO means improving the traffic to a website by natural or organic means. While Black Hat SEO – also called as Spamdexing uses incorrect means of displaying text to search engine spiders in order to rank well in the search engines. This techniques ends up degrading the user experience with search engines.

That is why, a lot of search engines are always on a lookout for websites implementing Black Hat SEO techniques. Isn’t it weird- We dont know how the search engines rank web page. For if we knew the webpage ranking technique, we could easily fool the search engine into ranking in top 10 atleast.

Each one of us wants our website to rank well, dont we? At some point of doing SEO, each one of us wished we knew techniques with which we could trick search engines. When we start with Search Engine Optimization, we apply all the meaningful techniques available in books. But, after a certain point of time, it becomes clear as to which search engine gives importance to what aspect of optimization.

Earlier, Optimizing Meta tags was what the search engines relied upon to get quality websites on top in ranking. But, with millions of websites misusing the Meta Tags Optimization by including unnecessary number of keywords in content, search engines Stopped giving due importance to Meta Tags Optimization. And so it happened to a number of seo techniques along the way.

Should You Trick Search Engines :

I say No!! Why? Simple. If you are caught, Your site gets black listed. Period. Plus, their are legitimate ways that exist and are being used by millions to get their site ranking well in search engines. Yes, they are time consuming, complicated and take a lot of effort. But, its worth it. Also, there are others who with little or no knowledge of SEO have got their keywords ranking well in search engines – how long will they fool google, yahoo or MSN. How long before it catches upto them and WHAM!! All the time, effort, revenue, clients – all lost. There are webmasters who are smart, but smarter than the Search Engine Giants out in the market?

Who Opts for Black Hat SEO :

  • Someone who has invested a lot of money in their website & not getting results.
  • Someone who wants quick results.
  • Someone who has lost their patience with White Hat SEO and not obtaining any results.
  • Someone who wants to get their competitor’s ranking down.
  • A person with no work in life. Like hackers who simply hack sites for fun.

Do Black Hat SEO Tricks Work :

Search Engines are well versed with the tricks going on in the SEO market. If you are going to use the obvious tricks like stuffing keyword without any meaning in the content or keyword hiding, you will be caught immediately by the search engine and your site will be dropped.

You could use the latest trick on the block, but eventually search engines will catch up with you and penalise your website. In a lot of cases, the Search Engines use an algorithm to identify the Black Hat SEO tricks and techniques.

What If You Get Caught :

  • The page rank of your website can drop drasticaly.
  • Your website can be dropped from the search engines.
  • The Site remains live, but the search engine can remove all the pages permanently.
  • The Owner can be tracked down and all future websites linked to that operson will not show up in search engines. Ouch!!
